CNY Hiking is a hiking group run by queer people for queer people in Central New York. Started in October 2023 by Ryan Skidmore, this group was created to take advantage of the natural wealth of Upstate New York and give the CNY queer community more opportunities to make connections and learn from one another.
Many of us enjoy practicing identification of local flora & fauna, spreading awareness of invasive species, and just taking in the outdoors together. We share tips to stay safe and healthy on the trail (like how to avoid ticks and other common risks) so everyone can feel confident getting outside.
The website features upcoming hikes, past hiking events with photos, newsletter signup, frequently asked questions, and a list of previous hike locations with information.
